You’ve probably heard of apps in your phone that delivers food right in your doorstep or outside your home . Are they beneficial to the society for people to lazy when drive in the road maybe having anxiety panic attacks while driving or go somewhere just to buy food . What are your thoughts about this

Food delivery apps are a solid way to make side income when you need flexibility in employment, meet a need within society, and a great way to limit drunk driving when you really want something to eat after a few beers imo.

Good for people that don't want to leave the house but also goes to show we've way over populated, we've lost the hunter and gatherer way of life and that kind of sucks.

To be fair, that way of life ended like 12000 years ago when animal domestication and agriculture were discovered and is a major part of why human civilization was able to grow and flourish to begin with.

I used them all the time when I was in China and Armenia, but they don't really seem like a thing in England (well, not in the small towns and villages where I am). It's so nice when you have a hangover and can't deal with society!

I prefer my food delivered on a Chinese motorbike or I can't accept it.

If they weren't local (which no one is, some further than others) then the real delivery person would be tied up in the bushes somewhere.

You mean 12000 years ago we tipped the scales from being sustainable to being a uncontrollable virus on the plant.

@K: If you want to romanticize food instability and living a nomadic lifestyle where everyone dies at the ripe old age of 30, you could always go off grid and reenact by living a primitive lifestyle. There's nothing stopping you from wandering, hunting and gathering for food, drinking stream water, wearing a loincloth, and refusing to take any modern medicines. Although you might find its a pretty miserable and hard life that leads to an early death. Probably why man has sought half the wonderful discoveries that we have today.

On the note of the Anthropocene and wiping out 70% of the species on Earth. That most coincides with the Great Acceleration particularly the period starting in the 1970's, not agriculture and animal domestication.

@Siren: I blame the wine too. Lol
