What was the first concert you ever went to? Was it a local DIY show? Regular venue? Big arena?

Deep Purple when they had Tommy Bolin replacing Ritchie Blackmore for a while

Shame he died, he was pretty cool

I can't even remember tbh. It was some show with a bunch of small touring punk bands at a local church. There used to be tons of them at churches and community centers in the early-mid 00's here.

Candiria at a local skatepark back in 1999 was my first show. Then saw Megadeth and Static X a few months later.

Emperor in 1998 at the LA2 in London (the gig was later released as the Emperial Live Ceremony DVD).

Wow nice, candiria headlined my first DIY show, but my first concert ever was kidrock & powerman 5000 when I was 12. Static X with Megadeth makes sense for 1999 since that was when Megadeth tried going industrial with "Risk"

Jingle Bell Bash at the Tacoma Dome. Saw Avril Lavigne, Nick Carter, Eve and several others at that. Was a mashup concert for Christmas hosted by a Seattle radio station.

Frank Iero is a lot of people's first show for some reason. Avril Lavigne in the lineup is not bad at all for a first.

Metallica and Godsmack back in 2004, promoting their absolutely terrible St Anger album. Thankfully they mostly just played the hits.

Local punk band. I lived in rural NSW, not really a lot of choice. First big gig was Metallica touring on ...And Justice.

Black Sabbath in 2012 I believe. Ozzy had difficulty moving around but his singing was great.

My first concert was Arctic Monkeys when I was 17 they were brand new then and very unknown, they played in my s**tty home town in a tiny cramped club, I’ve been in love with their music ever since

Hahaha that's a bit mean :')
But, I get what you're saying.
My dad plays them sometimes and I'm like...
...why? I think there's like 1 song I actually like and even then
I have to be in the mood for it.

Ah I hope she reads that in the jokey way I intended it. Each to their own 😂 My step parents dragged me to a Bon Jovi / Nickleback concert as a teen and that literally was the worst.

My parents just made me listen to lots of The Beach Boys and The Eagles on road trips. I have a nostalgic fondness of sorts for them now, but as a child it felt like torture.

Blaq Audio in Seattle, it was for a friend's birthday! I couldn't sleep much, but I really enjoyed my time in the city. I almost passed out inside the cramped venue though lol

@Halloween: Did you used to live close to there and move to the south or just for a trip?
