For me its Clifford the big red dog and iPod touch. Like one of my first memories was playing flappy bird on one. (I was born in 06)

I don't think I've ever been noticeably affected by nostalgia before.

Maybe, but it doesn't seem like something that would resonate with me anymore.

I've recently watched and played things I remember as a kid, and they weren't as good to me today as I remembered them. It's also why I don't want to give anyone an opinion or review on something based on old memory.

But, if we want to talk about stuff watched when younger, for me that would have been stuff like TMNT, X-Men, Gargoyles, Animaniacs.. 90's stuff. Once I got to mid teens I started losing interest in most TV, at that point, just watching educational stuff. But, eventually that went the route of reality shows and I haven't seen TV or movies since 2009.

I don't like reality shows at all. It's all scripted BS. Wrestling is more believable.

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be

Saying that hearing This Corrosion on the stereo comes close

Wrestling is alright, I used to like it until I actually tried it

N64 games mainly.

@Emu the senior network engineer where I work swears up and down he created the prototype machine for Alienware and sold the idea. (He also swears he created GRUB boot and Twitter too though. 🤷)

Conkers Bad Fur day on the N64

Eoten

Conker is actually my top N64 game. A friend of mine from New Zealand never even knew it existed and I just convinced him to start playing it. His expression while playing it is generally one of complete disbelief at what he is witnessing.

I'm too old to have watched Clifford growing up but old enough to have turned on PBS to keep my parakeet company while I was out and came back to realize how much he loved that show!

Oddly enough I find myself thinking of the early 90s and this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-YzbZOeshQ which means I'm getting nostalgic about a song warning against the dangers of being overly nostalgic.

That sounds like some dude I know who told me he got a "hacker keyboard off the deepweb"
It's a normal keyboard that has a card scanner on the top right corner of the num-pad lmfao.

I swear, the fact people think ANYONE would believe something like that, esp making GRUB?!?!?!?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH That is funny.. Oh man all of those are funny but to "I made GRUB btw" is next level lmaooo

I heard nostalgia is often amplified by stress people go through when they are older, which makes their brain become more attached to things they remember in the past. Maybe it could even be people disappointed with how things have become on certain media formats, like movies, or games. I've always been too laid back to care for the most part. I don't like a lot of modern stuff, but it doesn't make me nostalgic for older stuff so much. I just become indifferent.

Recently I've watched some older movies I never seen, some older games I've never played, so I can't have nostalgia for them, as they're completely new to me, but I definitely notice better quality in those things than their newer counterparts.

When I was in gradeschool though, I remember kids fighting over whether Ninja Turtles or Power Rangers was better. Some didn't like what the new option had to offer. I wonder if those kids became the ones with nostalgia later on? For me, I liked both the same. I was more into funny stuff, and educational stuff.

The Sega Genesis or in foreign countries it was known as the Sega Mega Drive. Games like Thunder Force 4, Sonic 2, Vectorman, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi, Urban Strike, Galaxy Force 2, F-15 Strike Eagle 2, Zero Wing (the game known for All Your Base Are Belong To Us meme), F-22 Interceptor

When I talk about old snacks that used to be out when I was a kid all those many years ago.

Eoten

I had a Genesis, also a SNES, and I played overwhelmingly more SNES games, but on the topic of Genesis, I really liked Urban Strike, Shining Force 2. In the past couple years I've played more and really like Streets of Rage 1, Castlevania Bloodlines, Ghouls n Ghosts, Aladdin, and Lion King, which I now rank as my favorite Genesis game.
