Anyone Interested in Philosophy? If so, what led you to it, and why?

I found myself inclined towards it for a mix of inquisitive and spiritual reasons, as of now I align heavily with Neoplatonist views, although I wouldn't say I subscribe to a certain school of thought entirely, always best to have your own nuance.

Philosophy definitely helped me get a deeper understanding of myself and the people around me, it made me a better more moral person.

Very interested. Particularly with regard to logic. My approach to anything in life is to proceed with sound reasoning and logic. I want to make sure if I take a position on something, it's done without committing logical fallacies. I think what led to this, was observing human tendency for motivated reasoning; where one manipulates data and arguments to maintain their own desired outcome. I'm guilty of doing this in the past, and probably still do to some degree, though I put forth a lot of effort to keep myself honest. Idk. I just figure what's the point in living life blinded by self-induced ignorance?

Interesting takes, I find self-induced Ignorance (and Indulgence for that matter) parts of the holistic Hell that is our modern World. People live in the extremities without looking at the nuance of perspective, to see the values beyond just Black and White, however this is of course merely my observation, all points and ideas to some extent or another have an underlying "truth" to them, even if such a thing is a mere abstraction and external assurance.

The amount of graphic war in the media and on the black and white TV when I was a little kid..

I majored in political science with a hefty amount of political philosophy, spent time in the .mil till the end of the first cold war.

I tend to humour, satire and parody to deal with shizz, think Juvenal and Catullus early influences lol, Voltaire (not the band) is good too!

Otherwise its life as an existential journey/traveller (Sartre,) with hefty amounts of boozing rock n roll and hedonism, (Hermann Hesse Steppenwolf, Henry Miller, Opus Pistorum) though probably less these days..

Emmanuel Kant is a valid philosopher. I find his “categorical imperative” method to be guiding when I have a decision and I don’t know what’s the right thing to do.
