There were some really bad shows at the local vfw back in the day. My friends band was really f**king good though. Like good enough to cover complex Tool covers to a T. Plus they wrote excellent originals. Other than that.l there are pretentious hipster douches in the metro area, I couldn't tell you one of their band names.

Oh.... Tilly and the Wall. As far as shows I paid money for, them. I saw them once open for a band I wanted to see, and they were horrible. I figured maybe they had a bad night. Nope, saw them "headline" once, but I wasn't there for them. I was there to see the opener play for my first time, who is my favorite musician of all time. I had been on acid for about 2.5 days at that point, very little sleep, I was out of my head. I stuck through the whole show so I could meet my hero. This other guy did too, and he kept asking for a ride, and since my hero has songs about hitchhiking, I decided to give this other fan a ride. I told him on the way there what I had been up to for days, and he was quite nervous, lol, then he told me about the car accident he got into. That's what you get when you beg for a ride though. He toke me it was far, he lied, I didn't know the metro at that time, I got lost after due to a detour and I was furious. This was pre Google maps on your phone. I lived though. End rant. I forgot about all this, neat.

And Mayhem fest on my 30th birthday was absolutely the worst gig I ever been to. And not because of the bands whatsoever. The moral of the crowd was atrocious. There were people there I knew I have no explanation right now for. One of the most sour days of my life. But I rode my Suzuki Katana there and sat with a beautiful chick most of the time.

Fear Factory on the "Obsolete" tour stood out, they'd jumped on the nu metal bandwagon, Burton had gained a lot of weight and was audibly out of breath for the 2nd song onwards and none of the band really seemed into it.
I've seen RHCP and Foo Fighters with similar vocal problems, but festivals and only because I wanted to see the bands before or after.
Obviously my own bands all sucked too
