Alien (1979)
Love the H.R. Giger inspiration. The lore, life cycle behind the Xenomorph, and its design. Also serves as one of my first horror movies as a child thanks to an awesome witchy country aunt that gave me the best memories of my life down south.

House of the Devil (2009)
80s and based on the Satanic Panic of the time. Not many people I have met have seen or heard this movie which is a bit of a bummer because the box office was well below the films budget. Underrated in my opinion.

28 Days Later (2002)
Dead zombies we have all seen in your typical zombie movies is one thing, but to encounter Rage zombies that can just rip your flesh and turn you quickly into one of them was a more frightening thought. I loved the small twist and appreciated as such.

Halloween (1978)
Probably because I am a John Carpenter fan but he did happen to make an iconic slasher who came before Jason, and Freddie. Not to mention the theme song will always live on.

A Serbian Film (2010)
Oh come we know if we seen this we had to list it.

Cannibal Holocaust (1980)
Classic gore movie all around. Seeing this at first I could not help but think a couple of scenes felt real *animal cruelty was actually filmed* it was so controversial some courts had to investigate if the violence depicted was real at all. I say if your horror film is the subject of an investigation then you know you really spooked some people.

As for a honorable mention if you will.

Scream (1996) and Vampires (1998)
Can we even consider these movies horror? I mean Scream had two dumb teens killing other dumb teens. Don't get me wrong it was entertaining and refreshing in its own way but I found more comedy in the film than aspects of horror. Apart from that I appreciate Wes Craven for the original Scream trilogy. John Carpenters Vampires is also similar. Vampires created by the catholic church roam the earth being hunted by a smart ass vampire hunter. I found some funny dialogue in the movie along with vampire slaying as would be expected as such with a interesting western twist.

My favorite horror movie is KYLE RITTENHOUSE’S ESCAPE FROM RAPIST SYMPATHIZERS.

No but seriously “A Cure for Wellness” is dope and it inspired this song

I just recently watched 28 weeks later, and the other twist I thought was interesting is how fast they turn. There are times where people switch over within a minute or two.

I tried to watch 28 days later too, but I can't get behind Pluto TV and their ridiculous amount of ads. Even my browser that blocks most ads doesn't work against it.

I've seen it before, it's just been a really long time. I was thinking about opening it up in said browser again, because long story short, there's one instance where it wouldn't block ads, and I reopened it and it worked.
