A sum of your parts...

A sum of your parts...

I've recently seen 2 different docs about the body part harvesting black market, either done by hospitals, or morticians. It is illegal to sell body parts, but it not illegal to sell the time it takes to extract said body parts. I think marking one as an organ donor give permission. I am one on my liscense, but how do others feel about this?

On one hand (pun intended) I'm dead, so why should I care, and I could do some good for someone else, on the other hand, they straight up part you out (intended again) like a stolen car at a chop shop. They take your f**king corneas, bones and everything else they can ffs. I don't think I'd care, except some asshole is gonna make a lot of money off me, and none of that goes to pay for cremation or anything. I think that's the only aspect I have a problem with. What are your thoughts?

I got handed a leaflet recently about some religious group in China suffering kidnapping for body parts because they keep themselves healthy.
Apparently wealthy westerners buy new lungs and kidneys off Chinese black market.

That is truly f**ked, a whole new level to this thing. I have a friend who loved there for a long time, so this kinda doesn't surprise me. Coincidentally, we met/ lived where there is a high population of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean people. There's a study done about why the life expectancy is so high there, despite it being a small town in America. They compared the Japanese lifestyle and life expectancy from Loma Linda California, to Japan, and found it is because of the way they live, diet, exercise etc. Lots of fish, and when they get old they still try to move around and do something everyday.

But anyways, how would you feel about this organ harvesting thing? To put it into perspective, these people could make $100,000 off a healthy person, easy.

I guess it depends on which restaurant they're selling them too?

If its free that's fine, good deeds done.
If it's for money then it would be better if family or whoever you will it to got a percentage perhaps, to make it fair... except if it's illegal then fat chance of fairness.

That's exactly how I feel about it crow. I know someone has to get paid for doing the work, I'm fine with that, surgeons don't work for free. That's what I consider free, places not losing money on the whole deal, but, to make massive profit off it is another story. I'm down to help people, but I'd like just SOME of the profit to go to my family, or me. s**t, I wish I could get evaluated and make a deal for a small percentage of it. Let's say they'll give you 20 percent of the estimated profit, let you hold onto a portion of that, and put the rest in escrow just incase you live longer, and wear out parts that they thought would be usable still. If those parts are still good, that escrow goes to whoever you choose, if not, they get it back.
