Phobias

Anyone have anything stupid they are afraid of? For me it's bugs. Not all, but most.

Also I have a phobia of falling so I don't like being on ladders or stools or anything that isn't stable in making me high up.

I think I have a fear of embarrassment, If I know I'm not good at something to a certain degree I really struggle to actually try it - in front of others - but I can practice it in my own time until I'm happy enough with it and then try it etc.

Although I think the older I get, this seems to be diminishing, or maybe I just care less!

No other phobias that I am aware if though!

Honestly the only long lasting fear for me has been that of abandonment. Past that, as a teen I was afraid of panes of glass. When I was 13 I shattered one by barely touching it and it screwed me up for a while.

Seagulls give me the creeps because of a story my mother told me as a child about seagulls that rip out the tongues of little boys who dont cover their mouths when they yawn, you dont wanna know what happens to the little boys who forget to zip up their fly ... mosquitoes and botfies scare the absolute f**king hell out of me. Last but not least ... the Blob. Any other monster has an understandable and easy to aquire weakness so growing up my young brain was able to rationalize how to handle the situation, but the Blob, something that can move quickly and digest me alive with a touch ,had some super obscure weakness of needing an ass ton of liquid nitrogen , so I was uncomfortable with slimes and blobs and sticky goop my whole life. There was a point in time when everyone was obsessed with slime and it was an absolute nightmare for me.
I grew out of my fear of seagulls but I have a little nervousness yawning at the beach.

I'll go with Greta Thunberg - a world that has lost its humanity.

Germs tbh.

I cleaned up at tge foot and mouth disease outbreak, with the ACF, when I was a young man.

I learned how germs gather in corners and how they spread, and survive, and how to wash my hands.

We stopped the spread, and all was well in Camelot... except me. I lost my legal sanity. To this day I fear germs.

I get the full battery of tests every year and never get anytging, nut if I have s*x with a girl, about 12 hours after s*x, I start to fear HIV, and ghonoreah, cyphilis, and tetanus, and all sorts.

Ok being buried alive and a world without humanity are not stupid phobias. This thread is for stupid ones lmao

Seagulls have a sort of soulless look to them, I can see it.

Throne how are you scared of flying yet always traveling?

In that case, I have no stupid phobias.
Although I have known a chap who was utterly terrified of balloons, would scream if he even saw one

Is a fear of stupid people a stupid phobia? Does that count?!

@Neon, surprisingly not.
His hatred came from the noise you could make from rubbing one, he was terrified of that so developed disdain for the things in general.
