So gasoline has gotten way too expensive for people to fill up their tanks yet the government wants to force people into buying electric vehicles which cost way more than gasoline powered vehicles

Makes no sense to me at all!

New toyota truck: $100,000

Tesla: $30,000

Electric vehicles aren't more expensive, but in many areas they are harder to charge or find qualified people to service. In my area they have a higher tax on them too, as gas isn't taxed crazily and is in the $2.xx per gallon range.

Gas has been fluctuating a lot, but it's honestly cheaper now than it was in 2012.

The upfront cost being cheaper is because its eaten up by all the future repairs and insurance you have to pay. You need a specific trained professional because the mechanic needs to work with electric hazards. Ultimately I think both will be about the same in the end. Mandate or not, it is not actually feasible to make everyone go electric.

Is it because you spend your SSI checks at the rub n tug?

Agreed Halloween, many aren't qualified to work on electric or hybrid vehicles. My ex had a hybrid and when we took it in over a battery issue they went "I think your alternator is bad". Nah bro... Hybrid and electric vehicles don't have an alternator. They have an electric battery that is charged by the motion of the vehicle which then charges the main battery.

This will likely change over time as more EVs and HVs enter use compared to conventional. But it's a ways off, particularly in areas resistant to using these types of vehicles such as my area that puts a heavy tax on driving one.

2009 Prius $4,000 used~ mine gets 48 miles to the gallon. Filling a tank for me rn is $20 ish on average. Gotten mine to 323,000 miles still had no issues, other than the cheap brittle plastic. It’ll prolly make it to 450,000 if I swap some battery cells and take good care of it.

Cars were the downfall of humanity in general. People are so fat and lazy now a days. It's kind of disgusting and repulsive.

Religion (including materialist atheism), politics, and money. Those are the three pillars of societal damnation.

And why not get on SSDI if you've got problems? Those grocery store working people who might be your friends waste more tax dollars on corporate welfare and MIC bulls**t than on helping you make a living, much of which you will put right back into the economy. So, f**k that noise. f**k their complaining, because they don't understand what the f**k they are bitching about.

And hookers? Well, I'm a romantic idealist. I want people to find their true love...but, if someone is just looking for s*x, they are better off paying a prostitute than "dating", because at least a prostitute is honest about what they are, unlike a gold-digger or other forms of materialistic trash.

I get by with taxis and trains and buses, will get a car again eventually to get out in the country more

Cost is a factor though with the cost of living rising so much, it isn't a priority when you work from home

When I lived in edinburgh I didnt need a car the publuc transport was great. I got by living in other places without a car but it is handy. Trains dont seem to be a big deal in America but we use then allot over in the UK. Our network is a bit run down though given it was built in the victorian era.

I'm from a big city and I mostly got around by bus or walking. Lyft when it was late at night or just too far.

Vamp, I just bought a Toyota 4Runner 2023 and we are the same age. The thing is a gas guzzler, and it drives like an armored Humvee from the military which brings back memories. Friggin love it.
