Is it really that bad listening to Lostprophets?

Is it really that bad listening to Lostprophets?

I still listen to Lostprophets because as a collective they are a good band and most people will agree with me. So why when one person, Ian Watkins goes and destroys the image, does everyone stop listening to them? I'm not supporting child abuse, etc. and no one can say you're supporting a paedo because I bought their albums, like everyone else before all this came to light. How can one person on a global scale isn't that big a name when you look at Michael Jackson he touched up kids yet everyone worships him? Only difference is he never got convicted (granted he's dead, so in a sense he got what was coming to him). It just makes no sense

You watch this video and tell me how much you like listening to him now after everything that's happened.

I understand your argument, but maybe it's because the act of Watkins was so vile, nobody wants to be reminded?

I know what's happened wasn't like the whole thing was all hush hush. I'm not narrow minded person like the majority of people, I can just see past things and separate things. Yes Lostprophets had Ian Watkins but Ian Watkins isn't Lostprophets. Their music is separate to that moron

Check out a band called No devotion, is Lost Prophets without their disgusting baby raping singer.

Well, considering Ian Watkins wrote the lyrics for Lostprophets, he was kinda part of Lostprophets, no matter how much you have that denial there that he wasn't.

So why even ask the question if you're that adamant about it being ok?

Because he doesn't feel okay about it and wants to justify that it is, even though he doesn't feel like it is, but says he does.

Get da massage Nils. GAWD.

I'm pretty comfortable listening them. I have them on now actually if you'd like to know.

So in other words, this thread is about as pointless as lostprophets themselves.

ian Watkins IS lost prophets. that's just it. his voice. his imagine. him. he made them into the success they were. I really liked some of lost prophets songs and the white album with like a red bird on I cant think of the name lemme go google it liberation transmission apparently? I listened to quite a bit but no way on earth would I listen to him singing those songs now I know what hes done. f**k that. why does he deserve to be remembered for anything remotely nice and enjoyable? to be remembered as a success? its an absolute insult to everyone of his victims and their families that poeple still play his music! all his cds should have been destroyed along with him. hes a f**king disgrace. i guess the difference with him and Michael Jackson was he was never actually found guilty of anything was he? I might be wrong here but I didn't really follow the Michael Jackson case? if that was the case then maybe he had a really good lawyer who got him off with it? I dunno. but the way it works is if you aren't found guilty then thats it youre not guilty. go live youre life as a free person who has done nothing wrong.x

Michael Jackson was a lot of things.

a paedophile wasn't one of them. The people who made the allegation did it out of spite/money, but he wasn't.

His brothers knew it, his whole family his friend and the court that trialled him knew he wasn't.

Yes... yes it is wrong - their music is garbage!
I saw a picture of him wearing a street fighter t shirt... I'm not sure whether I should play street fighter anymore. I think I will because I have a feeling that he didn't actually like street fighter and he just wore it as part of his image and because there were some children in the street fighter games.

They were never a good band, it's white washed radio s**t. That gross s**t was a nail in the coffin that ended their product. It wasn't music it was a product.

The lead singer pretty much was the band why put money into a pedos pocket or support his music, to me it's condoning his behaviors.

To be honest I liked their first to albums and tried to listen to them. I couldnt. not because the music is garbage (i like the first two albums) but because i just cant get what ian watkins did out of my head. Its extremely wile and disturbing. Even talking about it gives me the creeps. I feel so bad for the children involved. Whats even worse ... he was so smug about being released that he bragged to his fans that he would talk the judge out of prison WHILE he was awaiting court. Sorry man ... not the rest of the bands fault but just cant listen to the music anymore. Thats just how i feel.

I'm guessing the rest of the band knew that many people wouldn't wanna listen to them anymore if they're associated with Ian Watkins. Hence why they reformed under a new name and got a new singer, will probably still be s**t but at least they're still doing what they love, that's kinda admirable.

Listening to the Lostprophets now would be like reading Mein Kampf and being like, "Man, I wish I would have been able to read this book BEFORE I knew that Hitler was a horrible person!"

does anyone care what the other people in lost prophets are doing though? who even knows who they are? people liked lost prophets because of ian watkins. boys wanted to be him, girls wanted to do him. lost prophets seemed to go quiet for so long and since this has all come out the other people in the band seem to be trying to cash in on it :\ ugh x

He ruined the whole band.
I used to listen to them when they first came out and I was a teenager. I won't ever listen to them again. I'm a mum, I'd happily cut his junk off with a blunt instrument. So I'm definitely not going to listen to his voice/music again.

I met and hung out with them all once in rock kitchen in manc before they got big...makes my skin crawl now. I got rid of all my cds and feel bad about the gigs a shelled out for. I honestly feel my money and attention gave him the success and opportunities to be what he was. Horrid.

Always thought lost prophets were a load of s**t even before it came to light that ian watkins was a disgusting c**t. Michael Jackson didn't touch kids, he was exploited by people seeking money, ever seen interviews with jackson? Very child like.
