Hands down, my two favorite 80's movies are, The Lost Boys and The Labyrinth

This makes me feel very nostalgic. The crow came first or lost boys... which did i see first ha. |
Mar 23, 2020 04:22 Ah! I love The Crow, my mother practically religiously watched it with me when I was younger. |

“Don't screw around with me Maverick. You're a hell of an instinctive pilot. Maybe too good. I'd like to bust your butt but I can't. I got another problem here. I gotta send somebody from this squadron to Miramar. I gotta do something here, I still can't believe it. I gotta give you your dream shot! I'm gonna send you up against the best. You two characters.... are going to Top Gun.” |
Deleted User Mar 23, 2020 12:41 I just watched Blade Runner the other night and was truly underwhelmed. I really don’t think a sequel was called for there. |
Deleted User Mar 23, 2020 15:10 Not sure I can pin one down, but big, goonies, weird science, gremlins, and lost boys were pretty intergral parts of my childhood |
Deleted User Mar 23, 2020 15:25 Friday the 13th. |
Deleted User Mar 23, 2020 16:04 Some popular horror movies that came out at the time like Friday the 13th, Gremlins, Blade Runner... My favorite one that gives me weird nostalgic good feelings is The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. I really liked that movie, I wish they made another one... |
Deleted User Mar 23, 2020 16:24
The Neverending Story. |
Deleted User Mar 23, 2020 16:35 Three Amigos was so funny to me when I was in like 6th grade, but I went back and watched it a few years ago and man, it got a lot less funny in the intervening years. Made me sad to realize my sense of humor could no longer accommodate Three Amigos. 😢 |
Deleted User Mar 23, 2020 16:41
I don't think I've seen it since a young age and I remember thinking it was hilarious. So like you, I'd like to see it again to find out if it's still 'hilarious' Probably not. |
Mar 23, 2020 17:18 I'd have to say Evil dead, Gremlins, Back to future to name a few. 80's was a glorious time for movies! |
Mar 23, 2020 19:22 its a bit of a tie between stand by me, IT the mini series & even if it wasn't true to the book the shining and Christine |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2020 04:07 Blade Runner, I absolutely love AI storylines, Harrison Ford, and Vangelis. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2020 10:06 John Candy movies like Planes, Trains & Automobiles and Uncle Buck. For horror, The Evil Dead and The Thing. I also like animated movies like The Land Before Time and The Brave Little Toaster. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2020 13:14
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles absolutely holds up today, definitely one of my favorite comedies ever. |
Mar 25, 2020 01:32 Dirty Dancing, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures, Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, and Risky Business are also really good in my opinion |
Deleted User Mar 23, 2021 23:46 The 80's? Ah yes, back when movies were good. Not overly long for the sake of it, no wasted scenes, fleshed out balanced characters. Probably 90% of them were good, even when they were bad. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 00:12 Those 2 will do nicely on my list also. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 01:50
actually just need to steal everyone elses as i kinda have watched so many movies i can't even any more. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 02:17 Maybe not that one? Can't be sure any more... Looks like heavy metal.... |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 02:34 Krull |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 02:49
Lost boys too. By a long way. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 03:19 Even though they came out before I was born but my favorite two movies from the 80's well I guess more like the mid 80's til 1990 are Back To The Future 1 and 2. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 03:23 No one spotted this post was from March 23rd 2020? |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 03:24 If 90's movies were included though I would list the first live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Secret Of The Ooze. The third movies of both trilogy's were never good to be in my opinion. |
Mar 24, 2021 03:26 Do 80's aesthetic movies made after the 80's count? Kung Fury is up there. I wouldn't say I have a top 80's film atm. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 04:03 Oh voxx that movie is on YT so yes i'm watching it now |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 04:24 As HQ a movie from the 80's gets man |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 05:06
I'll run with that, the foster family i lived with had a business "here in australia" converting American Laserdisk to VHS |
Mar 24, 2021 05:12 Star Wars, Back to the Future, Terminator, Robocop, Blade Runner, Tron, Judge Dredd, Total Recall, Conan the Barbarian, Predator |
Mar 24, 2021 05:17
All of them. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 13:14 The ‘Burbs is a classic. Very weird movie though, strikes me as basically the same premise as Rear Window. It actually kind of bothers me that the ridiculous hypotheses of the nosy neighbors in both films were vindicated in the end, it makes no sense. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 14:36 As a kid, the Burbs was my first exposure to disposing of bodies on the sly. |
Mar 24, 2021 14:49 Well it would have been a boring film if they went through all the nosey neighbour antics and it turned out the neighbours were up to nothing |
Mar 24, 2021 16:42 Return of the living dead.Great characters, soundtrack and i like the dark comedy about it.I know typical but it's my 2nd fav movie of all time. |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 16:55 Badfish, I still think it could’ve been funny and interesting if it turned out the nosy neighbors were just driving themselves insane with their curiosity. Either way, it’s not exactly a “thinker” of a movie anyway, so I guess my critique is really primarily for Rear Window. |
Mar 24, 2021 17:29 I haven't seen Rear Window but I'm guessing being Hitchc**k it wasn't as light hearted as The Burbs |
Deleted User Mar 24, 2021 18:10 No, not exactly. Still worth a watch though. |
Deleted User Mar 25, 2021 21:16 Pretty much anything John Carpenter from the era. |
Mar 26, 2021 01:00 Ghostbusters, terminator, RoboCop, return of the living dead, weird science just to name a few I can think of off the top of my head |
Deleted User Mar 26, 2021 01:02 Weird science, good shout out |
Deleted User Mar 26, 2021 01:16 Weird Science is totally underrated. I’ve always been a fan of that movie. |
Mar 26, 2021 17:14 The Evil Dead, Repo Man, Wisdom, Some Kind Of Wonderful, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre pt.2.. |
Mar 26, 2021 17:19 also Blue Velvet, David Lynch's The Elephant Man, Dune, Terror Vision, Aliens, Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter.. |
Deleted User Mar 26, 2021 17:34 Something wicked this way comes, the Disney horror film for kids. |
Mar 26, 2021 20:26 Just introduced my gf to Spaceballs. Next gonna introduce her to terminator. Those are my 2 favorite xp |
Deleted User Mar 30, 2021 23:07 the lost boys for me too! |
Deleted User Mar 31, 2021 00:12 Too many to choose from.. pretty in pink, breakfast club, trading places, planes trains and automobiles, uncle buck, lost boys, predator, total recall, aliens, weird science, RoboCop, terminator,Ferris Bueller, short circuit, Gremlins, city slickers, the hitcher, red heat, lethal weapon, police academy, big, rainman ,clue, superman, never ending story...highlander, karate kid,batman..the Goonies...hey you guys!
