OK, firstly I’m going to apologise in advance for this both for length and content, but I personally feel that this whole fricking “skatergate” saga has got out of hand especially after waking up and seeing the bollocks that had appeared during my slumber. I know that I’m pretty bored of it as I know a few others are. That being said a few things need to be stated and I’ll try and make it as fair as possible.
This forum has worked the same way for years, you have a set amount of regulars that generally set the bar of what is expected from the topics discussed, whilst this may seem unfair to some it does serve a purpose of preventing the same mundane threads re-occurring, people breaking forum rules etc and/or trolling. In essence they are the unofficial mediators of altscene.
Offenders of the above will usually be met with derision, this generally isn’t anything too personal more a non-specific ribbing but it serves a purpose. The offender will either bugger off or they will learn from the error of their ways and become a regular part of the forum. This has happened countless times. Call it an initiation process if you will.
Regulars of the site have been doing this for an age and because of this they can smell bullsh*t a mile off.
So enter Skatergirl:
Her first thread broke the forum rules and as such she got s**t for it. Fair enough.
Consequent threads became more ridiculous again garnering derision, now Skatergirl will argue that she was being nice and didn’t deserve the flack but by her own admission (and her friends) the sole purpose was to come here and troll. This by its very nature negates any argument regards niceties. If you came here to troll then any pseudo niceties are exactly that, false, fake, disingenuous. So can it really be argued that any criticism she received was unwarranted, after all if you come to seek a reaction and get one then surely you can't complain?
So begin insults from both sides, fair enough level playing field.
Then comes the Ifunny debacle. Copying excerpts of conversations and images and posting them on another site purely for them to be abused. When reading through this site it becomes apparent that this was what it was all about in the first place, collecting new source material for her profile in some sort of "mean girls" popularity contest as it isn’t solely members from altscene who are subject to this. This is apparently OK though because people were rude. (see point about being here to troll).
Members are then literally blackmailed into saying sorry in order to have their images removed, even though having recently checked the site that the stuff is still there on skaters numerous profiles as well as Parafoxes. (Who knows how many other sites and profiles there are).
We are then accused of trolling her site and making inappropriate comments.... (Frankly I don’t believe it was anyone here as that’s not the game we play although apologies if I am wrong and tut tut). The way I see it is if you go around annoying enough people then you will reap what you sow and whilst I wouldn’t advocate the content of the alleged comments, you have brought it upon yourself. Given the amount of people abused on this other site then the culprit could be one of many, this happens when you make yourself a target.
In honesty though why 2 apparently successful individuals with full and happy lives feel the need to spend so much time trolling is beyond me....
The bottom line is this, when you tell lies and stir up s**t, it will inevitably come back and bite you on the ass, and no matter what you then say and how much truth contained therein you will not be believed because you have lost all credibility.
I'm not really interested in discussing this further and this was purely written with the purpose of highlighting events as they happened. So if Dan and Neil want to lock the thread then that’s fine, I don’t really want another s**tstorm.
