Ive been invited to a wedding, yes I know, I thought they were making a big mistake too πŸ˜…. Well anyway by my my profile you can tell i dress like im going on stage, because life to me is a performance. At a wedding though im not centre stage so if I dress the way I usually do will I be inappropriate or should I be myself because they already know what I looked like when they invited me? For the record these are work colleagues not friends. And ive never been invited to a wedding before.

Do you want to standbout or blend in? That's your answer. But my advisement would be to blend in, since it's not a regular party.

What he said. While the reception is a party-like environment, the entire event is supposed to be a ceremony for the bride and groom, so it would be proper etiquette to dress accordingly.

Tbf tho it's your choice at the end of the day. Really it's a matter of how much you respect the occasion.

For example, my mom hosted an event for herself and her now husband and she requested all of their children and siblings wear pink dress shirts and khaki pants.

I decided to show up in all black.

What is the dress code of the wedding? Be yourself but abide by those guidelines. The black dress you're wearing in your profile is elegant and wedding appropriate. When it comes to weddings, a lot of how you dress depends on the formality and location, i.e. are you going to be outside at any point?
