From 1990 to 1997, 7 Year Bitch tore it up. They were from Seattle, but not a "Seattle Band", as it were. They were a Riot Grrl band that was the tip of the spear of the 4th Wave Of Feminism, heavy on punk influence.
They were a little sister band to their mentors The Gits. Then Gits singer Mia Zapata was found murdered laying dead in the middle of the street after being brutally raped. That saddened & shocked the entire music community. It also gave fuel for 7 Year Bitch to work at domestic violence shelters & conduct benefits after releasing their Viva Zapata album, dedicated to Mia.
Selene Vigil, Elizabeth Davis, Valerie Agnew & Roisin Dunne were 7 Year Bitch.
Unfortuantely, original member Stefanie Sargent died from an OD after their first album in 1992
Guitarist Lisa Fay Beatty also died in 2011.
They were given a prominent spot in the Drew Barrymore film Mad Love that features a great live performance.
