Well, I have to start with the obvious. I'm a hell of a lot older than most people here it would seem, being the grand old age of 41, but there's something to understand here ... you get two types of alternative people ...
1) Those who feel alienated and become alternative to feel better and to give reason to the alienation who, when they are older and part of the bigger wheel, then become 'normal' people
and
2) Those of us who just don't really fit in the model of society we have and who are just by their nature 'alternative'. We grow old, but we stay the same, on the fringe, outside the circle.
Now, most people I meet are 'normal' and I married one of them and have dated many others. It doesn't end well. The two sides just don't understand each other. It's all very f**king dull and lifeless. Lots of people live their lives like that, I can't, I don't, and bollocks to the rest. Never trust a hippie.
So, I do what I like to do. I play in a punk rock band. We're not trying to be big and famous or anything, I've just been in bands since I was 13, first gig at 14, and I love doing it. I love loud distorted guitar and f**k up riffs and grrrrr and aaaaaarrrgh, it's just that. Loud noise make happy ...
I have also taking a lot of substances through my life. No point lying, no one is going to read this, and anyway, why hide what makes you you? I still do take a fair few, but I have a good job where I have to be serious and blah blah blah, so why shouldn't I do what I enjoy? Mostly the good old green. That's been my favourite for many many years, since I was 15 and remains so.
What else?! I write music and strange books and things. I'm working on my second solo album which is all the stuff the band can't do, some piano stuff, some electronica, this and that, whatever I felt like and makes me smile. My first one sold about ten copies. It's s**t though so I'm not surprised, I mean seriously, what was I thinking?! This one will be better but maybe not your cup of tea... or anyones.... as long as it is mine though. My cup of tea. Not your cup of tea. I shall make you another cup of tea, you're not having this one. You know why? Because this is mine. This is my cup of tea. Would you like a chocolate biscuit to go with your cup of tea?
Hmmm .... look forward to not hearing from you. I understand why, I don't blame you, I blame myself.
