Hello, my name is Liss, I'm newly moved to London and eager to get stuck in to everything this amazing city has to offer.
Some things about me...
1, I love to laugh. This is top of the list for a reason. I take life lightly and find humour in everything I can. I love going to comedy nights and I'm just as likely to pick a live stand up DVD as a film for a quiet night in. If someone can laugh easily and often and help me do the same then I'm often to be found in their company.
2, I like stories. I am a dreamer really, I tend to lean towards the fantastical so I read fantasy novels and play rpgs online and off, I enjoy anime and draw a lot. I also write sometimes and aim to do more of that. Planning to give nanowrimo a serious bash this year.
I like to listen to people tell stories too, whether anecdotal or traditional in style. At some point I would like to get more involved in tabletop roleplaying.
3, I am passionate about what I do. I originally qualified as a teacher but have since swapped the classroom for a museum and have made the jump to complimentary education full time. It gives me the chance to travel and meet extraordinary people every day. I'm incredibly lucky to have a job I love and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
4, I cook. A lot. Especially for a crowd, and I'm often happiest when I can cook for others. That's something my housemates can really get behind. I love trying new things and I'm always looking for new guinea pigs.
5, music makes the world go round. I grew up in a family of musicians, mostly the playing at the pub aided by much drink kind, though sadly I never learned to play anything properly myself. Though I might still be able to wring a tune out of a fiddle... Probably be dangerous to try though.
These days I'm good listening to almost anything, though I'm more likely to be seeing Korpiklaani or Bellowhead live than say, Beyonce or something. If it's loud and aggressive, i'm probably all over that.
I'm an affectionate, creative person who has a mischievous streak and a loyal disposition. If you think it sounds like we might get on then send me a message, even if there's no 'spark' the potential for new friendships is ever present.
It's very difficult to say what I'm looking for, since attraction can happen under all sorts of circumstances. However there are things I value, such as patience, playfulness, a big heart and a good laugh.
I'm always open to trying new things in new contexts so if someone has an interest or a hobby I've never tried then I'm all ears. It's always fun watching people geek out about a passion, especially if it really lights them up.
I'm an independent sort of person but in a relationship I look for someone I can rely on, who can grow to be my partner in crime and in life. There's a big whole world out there, much of it right on our doorsteps, come and take it on with me!
