So I've been living in Los Angeles for the past six years, but I have moved back to my home state to continue my education. I intend to go back to California in a year or two, but we'll see how life progresses.
With my education, I'm hoping to get into the business of Children's Entertainment/Education programming, both for television and the web. I've worked behind the scenes in news broadcasting and reality TV, and honestly I'd like to do my own projects that would be fun and fulfilling.
I'm also looking to get into teaching in the next couple of years. Again, a lot of that hinges on finishing my bachelor's. I figure if I'm going to attempt a career in children's programming, I need to learn a thing or two about working in the classroom as well.
I've been an extremely active member in my community (wherever I may be), including serving in church with homeless outreach, kids ministry, video and tech services, and so on.
Currently, I am working as a barista in a gelatto/italian coffee shop (a job I very much love and enjoy).
Aside from all that, I'm a geek. I LOVE movies (my education is in film production and entertainment business, so that's just a natural fit for me), exploring various sub-cultures (ask me about it sometime), I'm beginning to really love british television (ESPECIALLY Doctor Who and Sherlock), and I have on occasion dabbled into the world of comics and video games (especially when it comes to my interest in the business side of those industries).
As far as what I'm looking for, I'm really just looking for a companion (and that's not a Doctor Who pun, by the way) to spend time with. Preferably a nerdy/alternative-type girl (well, alternative to the typical Louisiana girl) who is into similar things I'm into.
I'm also hoping to meet someone who has a positive outlook on life. I can't stand it when someone constantly complains about EVERYTHING going on in their day-to-day. I enjoy surrounding myself with people who are content and have a sense of joy to them. I also hope that the girl I meet has an attitude of grace and compassion. I'm not a perfect guy, so I may say or do things that will be a bit frustrating (as anyone in a relationship would). A woman of genuine love and patience is always appreciated.
Basically, I think I'm a pretty alright and awesome guy, and I'd like to meet a similarly awesome lady. Who knows? She may be right around the corner...
