My self-summary :
I am on a journey of self discovery with an emphasis on minimalism and solitary reflection after a hectic decade of owning my own businesses, teaching, and traveling the world; no more trying to take over the world; the mania has receded to a placid isolation.
What I’m doing with my life:
I am currently living by myself and my cat Sally (Nightmare Before Christmas; Sally was brought to the animal shelter on Halloween) in Ypsilanti after recently relocating from the Northwest.
I’m really good at:
Communication and teaching.
My BA degree is in Education with a minor in music theory - specifically 16th century polyphony.
The first things people usually notice about me:
Looks, hyperbole.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food :
Anything to do with politics, anthropology, sociology, psychology, current affairs, bio-anthropology, rationalism, humanism, skepticism. Anything from Machiavelli to Buddha interests me. Ted Talks blows my mind in such a delightful way. I like a good discussion.
There is only one film: SECRETARY.
Daily Show, Stephen Colbert. Comedy, especially satire and chick flicks - I'm a sucker romantic. Eddie Izzard, Tim Minchin, Demetri Martin, Invader Zim, Flight of the Conchords, Big Bang Theory, Arrested Development (the show, NOT the band) anything that makes me laugh.
A very truncated list of music I love: Renniassance, Baroque, early Classical, alternative, everything by Danny Elfman, Morrissey/Smiths, 80's music, Blue Grass; with a feeling of derision for pop music (e.g. American Idol), R and B, Hip-Hop, and Rap bordering on rage (my minor was in Music Theory - Bach is rolling over in his grave). Just saw Les Mis and "I Dreamed a Dream" is butterfly kissing my brain day and night. There is a darker side to my musical tastes including Cradle of Filth, Marilyn Manson, early Megadeth and many others.
I am currently watching The Tudors and enjoying looking up the history of the Reformation, et al. again.
I love 40's, 50's, and 60's fashion and pin-up girls (obsessed with Bettie Page). Btw, I am a swing dance geek: East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and my favorite Charleston.
Let's dance, put on your red shoes and dance the blues.
Swing Arbor is starting a four week course on beginning Lindy Hop beginning March 6th at 7:00 p.m.. Come on. You've known you wanted to do it, so let's dance.
I spend a lot of time thinking about:
My family (my son recently died in a car accident and my sister died a couple of years a ago), social issues, meaning of life, the future.
On a typical Friday night I am:
At home with my cat watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit:
If I answered this question it would no longer be private. :/
Ok. I love women that wear Converse high tops and corsets...
Oh yeah, chocolate milk.
I’m looking for:
•Girls who like guys

•Near me
•Who are single
• For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
