I love U.K. women's punk rock like x-ray spex, The Raincoats, The Slits, Kleenex, Essential Logic as well as women bands from the NYC No Wave scene like teenage Jesus and the jerks and Bush Tetras.
I also like 90s shoegaze like Lush, JAMC, Ride, MBV, catherine wheel and Swervedriver. In addition, I was a huge fan of indie bands in my teens like Ruby Falls, Fifth Column, God is my co pilot, Huggy Bear, Helium, Voodoo Queens, Jale, Unrest and Archwelder. I also liked twee/cuddle core bands like Cub, Emily's sassy lime, tiger trap and basically a lot of grrrl stuff from kill rock stars/k/team mint/lookout records.
I read a lot of sociology/feminist theory books from Andrea Dworkin, Betty Friedan, Angela Davis etc. I also read modern graphic novels from Peter Bagge, Daniel Clowes, Adrian Tomine etc.
Now, I'm a widow, an author and a punk poet.
My favorite writers are Emily d**kinson,Sylvia Plath, Salinger, Hemingway, and Gertude Stein.
So, I really want to start going to shows again, hang out in nature and listen to records with a cool, nice, good guy. I want someone significant in my life. A nice bedroom voice is a major plus, since i have one too.....
(It's really important to me that a guy is not exploitative towards me. That has unfortunately happened a few times on here.)
Anyways, I really like listening to Girls against Boys, Trail of Dead, She wants Revenge, Placebo and At the Drive In with the understanding of all the feral, hedonistic and carnal feelings that come from hearing all their songs.....
I have finished by 5th book called small letters for a BIG world.

"That's all she was looking for cruising that night
The men were standing on the corner licking their wounds, drinking wine
Time was finally up, they crawled into her car dressed in white
Waiting for someone to intermingle and intertwine
Drinking from a small bottle that tasted like rotting thyme
All for the men, money and moonshine"
