Hi, I’m James. I’m 33 years old, originally from Oregon, and I’ve been living in New Mexico since 2019. I moved here for a relationship that, unfortunately, didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. It’s a long story, but in short, I was with someone for quite a while who wasn’t honest with me. There was infidelity and a lot of deception, even though it was presented differently at the time. In the end, I had to accept what was really happening and move forward on my own.
My background has shaped me in a lot of ways. I’ve been on my own since I was 15 and haven’t had contact with my family for about 19 years. My upbringing was extremely difficult—my mother struggled with substance abuse and was abusive, and her partner was violent as well. When I was 7 years old, he assaulted me so severely that it resulted in a skull fracture, hospitalization, and surgery that left me with a metal plate in my head. Growing up without stability, care, or support has had a lasting impact on me, and I’m aware that it’s contributed to struggles with trust and fears of abandonment.
Despite all of that, I’ve built a life for myself. I currently live on my own in an apartment in New Mexico, but after getting out of that long-term relationship, I’ve been going through a difficult healing process. I’ve been trying to move forward, let go of the past, and create a fresh start, which is why I’m planning to move out of state within the next month or two. I’m not entirely sure where yet, but I’m open to figuring that out as I go.
Creativity is a huge part of who I am. I’m passionate about art—painting, drawing, and especially tattooing. I’m self-taught and have been tattooing for about 17 years. Most of the tattoos on my body are my own work, and I’ve also tattooed others. It’s something I take seriously and continue to develop. I also enjoy music of all kinds and spend time playing video games.
At this point in my life, I’m hoping to find something real and lasting—a “ride or die” kind of connection. I’m looking for someone who truly accepts me for who I am, someone loyal who wouldn’t even consider walking away when things get hard. I want a partner who genuinely loves me for me, and who’s open to building a life together—traveling, growing, and experiencing the world side by side.
Ultimately, I’m searching for my soulmate—someone to share the rest of my life with in a way that’s honest, meaningful, and real.
