I'm very young at heart and music is a dominant feature of my unique personality. I love going to concerts and music festivals. I enjoy rock music of all kinds.
I'm looking for a lady who appreciates unconventional norms and fashions, A lady who thinks outside the box and questions societal expectations. One who has a great sense of humor, a fun personality and noticeable intelligence. Beauty is subjective, and to be honest, I'm more attracted to an individual's personality rather than just her eyes. I'm not interested in people who are shallow, fake, or pretentious. I never cared for women who follow the latest trend, or who chase-after materialistic objects and mundane lifestyles. Shiny objects never caught my eye, and I don't really have the patience for superficial personalities. I like people who are real. People who know themselves and value deeper meanings in life. In college, I studied Mathematics and Philosophy, and I've lived a life contemplating the nature of things.
I'm looking for a lady to share life's adventures with. I'm drug and disease free, and I expect the same in a girlfriend.
There aren't many opportunities to meet women at the places I frequent, as well as, the coffee shops that my friends and I hang out at. In fact, I have not dated or experienced romance in several years, since the Covid pandemic. I'm looking to change all of that.
~Generation X~
I was born in Chicago during the summer of '69. I've lived in many different cities and states before moving here to Florida a couple decades ago.
When I was a kid growing-up in Chicago, I had a lot of angst and depression. I fell into the underground punk rock scene in the early 1980s.
In college I earned a Liberal Arts Degree, with concentrations in mathematics, and philosophy: logic and political ideologies.
Later, I entered the trades becoming an electrician. I've worked high voltage in both the commercial and residential industry for many years.
Florida can be very boring. Even though the scene has died away many years ago, there aren't any alternative individuals in my area of Florida. My close friends from the old school have either died or moved away.. The friends I have now days aren't into the alternative music scene.
I have my own place and live alone in a nice part of town. The area I live in is one of the fastest growing places of the U.S. The traffic is actually becoming unbearable. I do love nature and the beaches down here in Southern Florida.
I've been going to shows and music festivals since I was a kid in the 1980s. I still enjoy concerts, and I try to go every chance I get. In fact, just this summer, I went to the Metallica concert in Tampa in which there were over 80,000 people. One of my favorite punk bands called 'Suicidal Tendencies' opened for them. We partied that entire weekend at the hotel, and at a giant Goth nightclub there called 'The Castle'. The club played a lot of the Goth music that I grew up on, such as The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, New Order, Skinny Puppy, and Ministry.
I love Science Fiction and Horror Movies. I enjoy documentaries on ancient civilizations and history. I enjoy going to museums: my favorites are in my home town Chicago, as well as, The Metropolitan in New York City. I love visiting zoos, safaris, aquariums, and theme parks here.
I have many hobbies and talents. I'm very creative and I enjoy building things. I enjoy cooking, gardening, home remodeling and repairs, fishing, boating, camping, billiards, darts, movies, art museums, coffee shops, nature trails, beaches, and traveling.
As with most punk rockers, I have a Reagan-era tattoo. When I was a young teenager in the early 1980s, I hung out with a notorious street gang in Chicago. Although I was a White boy, they accepted me as a brother because I grew-up in the same neighborhood, and went to the same schools as most of them did.. One night we gave ourselves tattoos with a jail-house tattoo gun. That's also when I got my left ear pierced. Later, when I lived in Minneapolis in the late 1980s - early 1990s, I got a full sleeve of tattoos and my septum pierced. That's also when I started sporting two-foot mohawks, 14 eyelet Doc Martens, and a spiked leather jacket. Jesus. I have memories of being in neighborhoods, and even whole towns in the U.S., in which I was the only one who looked that way. I stood-out like a sore thumb in the 20th century.
I'm not a music snob, but I am particular about what type of music I listen to. As a latch-key kid growing-up in the 1970s with a single parent, I was introduced to heavy metal at a young age. Today, it's called "classic rock", and there's still a place in my heart for bands such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, and many more.
Being from Chicago, I also have roots in real Blues music. Unlike the original Mississippi Delta Blues, like Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, Chicago Blues has brass horns in it. I love it all. I also like Tom Waits modern-style blues, especially his album 'Rain Dogs'. I enjoy international music. I like that Irish band called "The Pogues". My favorite classical music is Beethoven, Vivaldi, especially the Four Seasons, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, and of course, Jesus Christ Superstar: a rock opera. The best performance I've ever seen was the Chicago Symphony Orchestra do Beethoven's 9th. I got manic. It was that good.
I also enjoy rockabilly, as well as, old school country music, especially Johnny Cash. The only stuff I despise is rap, hip hop, and modern pop music.
My favorite literature includes books by the Beat Poets, and different existentialist writers.
I have a sociable and outgoing personality. I'm very loyal to my friends, and I'm proud of my compassionate nature. I've been treading the path of Zen for many decades now, and recently I've returned back to the martial arts to earn my Black Belt. I've discovered it to be much more challenging to execute the forms now that I'm a little older.. However, I've always been the type to accept challenges in life, so the extra difficulties are actually rewarding.
I only drink occasionally, as my primary vices are coffee and cigarettes. I don't have any felonies or skeletons in my closet. I'm in good health, and I eat healthy and exercise. I'm drug-free and disease-free.. I'm looking for the same in a girlfriend.
