After breaking up a 5 years relationship that left quite a bit of trauma, I think I am ready to do this again... slowly. I am a lone wolf at heart, but sometimes it gets a bit too lonely. I don't want to go head first into anything right now; I am first and foremost looking for a best friend who shares the same views of the world so we can go from there and build something that is both creative and nurturing but also respectful of each other's identities and needs. I have no patience for hookups or relationships without substance, and no time to waste with shallow chatting or drama.
All that being said, I think I can introduce myself. I am a Brazilian-American, professional fine artist (painter/illustrator) and performer. Divorced with a kid living with me full time (and I love it). I live a full creative and independent life. I am idealistic, a terrible cook, and a much worse organizer. I think too much about everything. I get easily distracted, break a lot of dishes, spend too much time looking for my glasses and keys (that are probably in the refrigerator). Good at creating chaos, at drawing, being laid back and stoic, leaving paintings unfinished because I had a better and grander idea, and assembling furniture. At reading books for kids and being contradictory and convoluted.
When they try to grab me, I break into dozens of silvered pieces. It's my special talent.
My studio is my spaceship and nature is my temple. There's not a lot more. I love and value the simple things - rainy mornings, carpets of colored leaves, my cat inviting me to play. If there's good beer and great music, then joy is complete. Experiences before possessions - I actually rather see having "things" as a big burden, except maybe for books and black clothes. And art supplies. There's no such thing as too many art supplies.
My spirituality is a huge part of what I am. That means I don't believe we are put here for such a brief time just to disappear later on, so I want to leave this existence much better and freer than when I arrived; in a constant work to expand the consciousness of myself and my role in the universe. That also means I love to discuss things like metaphysics, life after death, astrology, tarot, myths, etc, but it does NOT mean I reject physicality (since all of human experience is spiritual in essence) and don't have fun with the mundane or profane. I see life as a constant flow and we need to graciously let it drag us in its sometimes gentle, sometimes furious rhythm.
