Got the lockdown lonelies, just looking for some like-minded or interesting people to talk to.
I consider myself to be an Egalitarian. Concepts like nationalism, eugenics and cancel culture get under my skin. Politically I'm probably considered by people to be a centrist or center-left. Which I suppose is appropriate because there's facism on both sides of the political spectrum now. Maybe there always has been... According to that political alignment calculator, I'm basically anarchist Gandhi lol. I hate the Tories, I don't have a strong opinion on Brexit other than both sides of the general public were uninformed/misinformed and the majority of debates are usually charged by partizan rhetoric. I'm pro freedom of speech and pro legalization of weed and psychotropics.
I like listening to a lot of seminars and lectures by people I find interesting like Alan Watts, Terrence McKenna, Graham Hanc**k and Manly P. Hall. Mostly things centered around philosophy, the nature of conciousness, metaphysics, psychedelic and paranormal experiences, the occult, history pertaining to religion's influence on civilization throughout the ages, magical practices from around the world and the evolution of mystery traditions. I also try to read a lot on those subjects or listen to audiobooks.
I'm into a lot of turn of the century authors like H.P Lovecraft, H.G Wells, George Orwell, etc. I like a lot of horror novels mainly, I'd love some recommendations actually. I'm also working on a Grimoire collection.
I practice tarot and astrology. There's a lot more to these systems than people would have you believe. For instance, reading a small paragraph in the newspaper about your sun/star sign isn't going to be accurate at all, there's more to it than that. Most of what's "debunked" is low hanging fruit borne from shills or people not sufficiently educated in the practices or articulated enough to defend themselves or put the ideas forward. Most of it's intellectual adversity stems from the idea that conciousness is a byproduct of the mind and there's nothing after we die. But as far as I'm concerned those are just as much based in belief systems as they claim of the opposite. I personally feel that what I've experienced suggests otherwise. I don't care about changing anyone's mind or converting anyone, you do you, my spirituality is fluid and constantly in the process of inspection and refinement, it's a personal journey for me. I don't think there's any one spiritual or religious practice that holds all the cards (that exists anymore at least). I don't really have anyone close to me that I'd even consider talking to about it, but if you're in the same boat or you're just curious you're more than welcome to discuss ideas and experiences with me.
If you think we might get on then feel free to message me! Actually I'm pretty unlikely to message first to be totally honest. Especially if there isn't anything in your profile for me to read and start a conversation on. I usually reply to winks though if you're also shy and anxiety ridden like me heh.
