Recently out of a very long relationship so just looking for people to chat to.
I've got a bit of a habit of getting carried away when writing so I apologise in advance if this thing drags on...
So where to start... I work in video/creative production. A bit disillusioned with relationships so I'm just on the lookout for people to chat to, friends, cheeky bit of fun, who knows? Such is the unpredictable nature of life.
I'm quite a creative type, I love to have a project on the go - whether it's designing and building an instrument (made a bass guitar) or doodling characters to inhabit some crazy sci-fi inspired world for a story that I'll never get round to writing, I always need to have something cooking up to keep my mind occupied. As well as visual arts I like making music - it can vary because I have a wide variety of tastes but usually I like to create quite relaxed, experimental ambient/electronic stuff; I like to record sounds and transform them into something completely different. Same with building things - I'm resourceful. I'm currently using a pair of bedsocks from a travel pack as a makeshift wrist rest - that's how I roll.
My other passion is photography and video - I love my camera and try to take some kind of photographic recording device with me wherever I go... you never know! I've done some fun work in the past in terms of video, doing behind the scenes on a short film, music videos, work with the BBC and allsorts of related things. That said, I'm keen to try some photography with a model so if there are any wannabe suicide girls out there...
I enjoy reading (fiction and non fiction - love to be learning when I'm not creating) and my favourite authors are Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett and Arthur C. Clarke. Few others aswell but they're the ones I like the most; I enjoy dark British humour and old pulp science fiction.
Musical tastes are all over the shop, but generally I have to feel something for me to really like it; I see music as a fusion of self expression and talent so it becomes clear when people have nothing unique to express... Got a hugely varied taste - classical, ambient, electronic, trip hop/the Bristol sound, hard rock, reggae, blues, jazz, motown, soul, lo-fi, post-rock, punk, metal, experimental/soundscape and acid skiffle, naturally
All depends on the mood really, there's a sound to suit any emotion I often find...
Really not into clubs and all that but somewhere with good music is much more my thing. Truth be told I'm more of a 'staying in' type than a 'going out' type, but too much of one thing gets a bit dull so it's nice to mix things up and have some variety. I prefer days out exploring, museums, places with a bit of culture and such. I don't really drink very often, don't smoke, and have never touched drugs. Not interested. By process of deduction you should be able to work out what my vice is
I've got a fairly geeky aspect to my personality, plus I've got interests in a few more relatively unusual things - I'm enchanted by the mysteries of life and the idea that there's something beyond what we see... therefore I love anything to do with the paranormal or the supernatural, and I love hearing stories about people's experiences... Mysteries, conspiracy theories, ghosts, UFOs, monsters, general intellectual talk and lots of weird stuff along those lines. I've seen every episode of the X-Files
Annnyways.... drop me a message if you fancy a chin wag
