Ayup, my name is David and I'm looking for a relationship with someone of a like mind; someone who shares at least a couple of similar interests; someone who holds the same values as myself and will practice what they preach; someone who doesn't take (most) of life and especially themselves too seriously; and, most importantly, someone who will tolerate those points where we differ - mutual respect (should be a given really). I'm not interested in anything casual, not being a big fan of things superficial.
I value honesty above all else and have no time for lies, bulls**t and deceit. I'm big on respect, courtesy and tolerance of others - you treat folk as you would wish to be treated.
My interests: first and foremost it's music. I was weaned on classic rock, my first love is the blues, but I listen to and appreciate most genres (metal, punk, soul, folk and roots, classical). My only bugbears are jazz and rap. Music's highly subjective - you either dig it or you don't. Also picked up a guitar not long back, after a 30 year break, and have reached the dizzy heights of really not very good in no time.
Sports-wise, I've lost all interest in most, but still hold a deep love of cricket (watching now, gave up playing about 10 years ago).
I love my food and enjoy trying out new dishes whenever I can and am a bit of a real ale snob. I read a lot, enjoy films (with a plot!) and get out and about for long walks with my dog as much as I can.(Don't mention the hound, I've been advised - well cobblers to that. I've been around dogs all my life and don't really trust people who don't like them).
Oh, just one more thing (channelling Columbo). I loathe textspeak. A few years back I learned to read, write and speak English. I kind of feel I should be using it.
