In vain the world strives, ambitious with goals.
Children of man like animals they live, nobody sees and nobody knows.
Would you even lift a finger if you did not believe,
That you might somehow benefit, and hopefully not grieve?
Why do you laugh, can it be that you think,
That death will not find you, in the river you wont sink?
Is there anything at all you can do say or make?
To cleave to what’s real and abandon what’s fake.
If a great mind or philosopher declares,
That happiness is forlorn, but who listens or cares?
Can one desire what has never been tasted?
We long to return, for much time we have wasted.
The path of wisdom is in truth to remember,
We live with amnesia, in the wind like a feather.
Alas a great secret must now be told,
Passed down to us from days of old.
An adversary each one has residing within,
Compelling us all to commit a great sin.
In this has he tricked us always to live,
Only to receive, and never to give.
His only aim is to block and conceal,
But the grand illusion now we reveal.
In truth there is no lie,
In living we do not die
