Lemme put it like this: when I say, "I'm Gomez looking for his Morticia," you should feel free to pretty much take that literally. But there are two different ways you could take it literally.
One is that I am kind of a weirdo. I wish every day was Halloween, I dress in a lot of dark colors, and I see the beauty in old, dead things (especially rocks and fossils.) I've gathered that this, along with the fact that I do not care even a little bit about any professional sport, makes me different from the typical L.A. dude.
The other, though, is to look at the kind of love Gomez and Morticia have: a love that's eternal, that transcends time and death; a playful, intense passion that will burn down the world to save the one it loves.
I want that. More than anything. And so,
I'm not from L.A. I spent my formative years in the deep South (where I learned my manners) and the 80s goth-punk movement (we called it "death rock" back then), which have made me an odd blend of rebellious spirit and gentlemanly gentility.
