Hey, I'm Joel. I recently moved to Seattle from the Midwest. Moved out here because I love the surrounding natural environment, the music scene is more vibrant, and the food options are more diverse and higher quality. Always down to go hiking, go to shows, or get food and drinks. Or we could make dinner together, I love cooking. Music plays the biggest role in my life. I budget for shows and records. Much of my wardrobe is black and brandished with band logos. I'm a huge metalhead, but I love music across many genres. For example, this weekend I saw Jon Hopkins one night, Parquet Courts the next, and I'm going to see Incantation next week. I lean left when it comes to politics and social issues. I try to vote for progressive agendas and against continued corporate and environmental malfeasance. But the whole thing is such a farce, so I can be pretty cynical about it all. Trying not to be a total downer, but I live in reality and some people don't like realness. I tend to be awkward and introverted around new people, but I warm up quickly once we find common ground. Big fan of things related to the sci-fi/horror/fantasy realms. Occasional artist, occasional writer, occasional attempts at making music. Just another kitchen manager with a liberal arts degree and wasted potential trying to figure out whether to pursue a more prestigious career or focus on more creative avenues. Human, unfortunately.
