Currently I am deeply enmeshed in fundamental change in my life. I am in the process of a divorce; there are three young children involved, for whom I would lay down my life without hesitation; and to top it off, it is all happening across state lines. It's complex, hurtful, confusing, challenging and takes up the majority of my processing power... both of mind and heart. In the meantime, I am still a human being with a desire to share time and experiences with others.
Otherwise I have a modest job. I am a recovering alcoholic (14 years) and a former smoker, so generally I prefer to avoid these if at all possible but it's not a deal-breaker for me.
I have three young cats at home, a lawyer on retainer (although I seem to be the one on the leash), I get respite from life's wear-and-tear by riding a motorbike to and from work (it's been my primary means of transport for years) and by listening to industrial, metal, EBM, Post Punk and early New Wave. I like to make things out of wood and iron. I read mostly Historical non-fiction or books on how to do/make things (carving/blacksmithing/model-making/casting etc.). I have discovered a love for Rosaries. Life may be full of reasons for seriousness, but I cannot stifle a stupid/silly streak a mile wide. I have a longstanding love for Science Fiction in any form. Rarely do I play games (PC/Console) anymore, but occasionally I will... I used to make them for a living.
I have no clear idea of what I am looking for here. Sorry. After 6 months of relative isolation, I just know that I would appreciate some company. At the least, I am looking for a friend, a companion, a being to connect with in real terms... What form that company takes is likely to be pretty innocent and independent in nature. I am not looking for someone to lean on, I have resources for that already.
