My name is Travis. I'm a 420 friendly metalhead and 60s/70s art rock enthusiast from DFW, obsessed with cats, horror movie fanatic, nature lover, aspiring world traveller, and musician
Either I'm working during the week or going to concerts on weekends. Trying to return to school to study radiology, biochemistry, forensics, anthropology, psychology, and neuroscience. One of my greatest aspirations is traveling to Europe, especially Scandinavia. In the US, I'd like to explore the Pacific Northwest, Upper Midwest, and the Southwest.
I've been a pianist since 2007, but I haven't practiced lately since I lost my keyboard. For now though, I'm focusing on guitar and singing. I also want to learn how to play the cello, mandolin, tin whistle, kantele, Uilleann Pipes and hurdy gurdy.
Some of my favorite music includes: Progressive rock, jazz-fusion, avant-garde, classical (especially baroque, romantic, and impressionist era), neofolk, krautrock, blues, alternative, metal, psychedelia, grunge, mathcore, d-beat, crust, grind, powerviolence, screamo, djent, ambient, minimalism, drone, shoegaze, noise, industrial, darkwave, ethereal, dream pop, and post-punk. Sometimes I listen to early rap (90s or before) and old country (mostly outlaw, bluegrass, 50s rock n roll, and psychobilly stuff). 80s synthpop, new wave, and hair/glam bands are my guilty pleasures.
Aside from metal concerts, I'm not much of a nightlife person who hits up the bars and clubs on weekends, but I won't reject it if that's someone's idea of a good time, so don't be afraid to ask me out for drinks, hookah, dancing, or even karaoke. I'm not afraid to publicly make light of myself.
I also like art and science museums, costume parties, Renaissance festivals, horror conventions, reading in bookstore cafés, drinking coffee or tea, playing with kitties, camping, hiking and strolling through creepy cemeteries and/or the woods on cold dark nights.
