Elijah was a man who felt alone in all the world and was running for his life from an angry queen. That running for his life turned into a death wish and he crawled under a broom tree to die. He cried out to God to grant him a death out of mercy because the journey was too much for Him. But God gave Him rest under that scraggly broom tree in the desert and provided Him with food and water so that He could continue to be a prophet for God. One of the ways God provided for Elijah was by using ravens to carry and deliver food. This story means so much to me because I have crawled under the broom tree and cried out to God for death. But God has always sent me ravens.
I know that if Jesus Christ had not taken the liberty of saving me from myself and from my darkness, that I would be dead by now. My passion and purpose and drive is to love others like He has loved me so that life can be breathed into this dead and dying world I mourn for every day. I am not perfect, but God can cover me all the more because of that. Honestly, what I wish people knew about me from the time they first meet me is that I truly love them and not that I just have an agreeable personality or that I am just too submissive to act selfishly. I love music, art, people, animals, nature and running. Some of my favorite musicians are Spirit Child, Project 86, Demon Hunter, mewithoutYou, Showbread, Leper, Eowyn, Flyleaf, Skillet, dcTalk, Write This Down, Anberlin, Blindside, Kids in the Way, Living Sacrifice, Family Force 5, Wedding Party, Godscare, The Awakening, My Epic, Men As Trees Walking, and Ilia.
