activity provides an easy beginning of the year survey for your students. The students go through, answer questions, and just fill in the sentence. Then, take the activity which now serves as an informal outline, and have the students transfer it into a paragraph. In our class, we circle three "I" statements and turn then into different sentence starters. This way I can teach a mini lesson on varying sentence beginnings as well.
