Now I'm an on-call site administrator (still technology) as well as work at a local restaurant to pay bills while I'm in grad school. It's my first time in fast food. It's weird, but we'll see if I like it.
It was a difficult decision to ramp my working life down to make room for the graduate studies, but I think it will pay off.
• Afterparty: For fun I spend at the very least a few days a month generating ideas in humanitarian technology and/or building them.
It feels really good to take a social ill or difficulty, identify a root cause or resulting pain, then build a resolution to solve it.
