I was born almost 28 years ago, and I grew up.
Yeah, nice and short.
I trained as a chef and worked in the trade for a few years before getting tired of the hours and lack of a social life. I still like to cook and can make the best dang apple crumble ever. As well as the odd curry, biscuits, cakes, and loads of other stuff. I've also dabbled in homemade chocolates and sweets that I usually give out to friends and family at Christmas time.
After retiring from catering, I got a job in a shop. Not the most glamorous employment, but it freed up a lot of time to actually life my life. I managed to complete my first novel and get it published. An achievement that's taken me over a decade, but something that I plan to continue into the future. Writing is my passion and I love it. I am also a keen photographer and, although I've only just started learning the craft, I have taken a few amazing pictures.
So, now I guess I should talk about my tastes.
In music, I tend to like almost anything. My CD collection (yes, I still own CDs

Film? Again, it's varied, though I tend to prefer Sci-fi/Fantasy. The Lord of the Rings is one of my favourites, as is Star Wars (of course) and the Nolanverse Batman films.
Television. I don't watch a lot of modern stuff, though I am getting into Game of Thrones and True Blood. And I really need to try out the Walking Dead. Apparently it's rather good. My DVD collection consists of things such as Star Trek (DS9's the best!), Stargate, Friends, Farscape, Buffy, Firefly, The X-Files. And, of course, the best of the lot, Doctor Who. Yup, I'm a HUGE fan, the old series and the new (Tom Baker's the best).
Books. I love reading and can do it for hours. I primarily prefer fantasy (you may see a recurring theme here). Some of my favourites are Lord of the Rings, the Wheel of Time, Discworld, The Arabian Nights, and anything by Stephen King. As for non-fantasy, I love D1ckens (sorry, I had to spell it like that. Would you believe it, POF censors the first four letters of this greatest of writers!!!) and Shakespeare. And, like the fact I still own CDs, I still own books, though I did buy a Kindle the other day and it never leaves my side. No power of new tech will ever get me to part with my hardbacks though. The feel of holding a real book in your hands has nothing on the Kindle.
I also like to make things. Preferably the old fashioned way. I haven't done it yet, but I'd love to make my own paper and hand write a book using beautiful calligraphy.
My religious beliefs are too complicated to explain in this short description, but I don't tie myself to one. I believe there's something out there, God, the Force, the Giant Spaghetti Monster, whatever it likes to be called, but I wouldn't be shocked if I was wrong. One of my favourite quotes is 'The only thing I know is that I know nothing'
Anyway, enough about me, what do I look for?
Well, I like girls who are outgoing, but still enjoy to sit in with a cup of hot chocolate and watch a DVD. I like you to have your own opinions, even if they differ from mine; it makes great conversation. Though I would like a more 'geekier' girl. Ideally, I would prefer a non-smoker and a social drinker (but not of the binge variety). Also, I'd love it if you're up for something different. You gotta try everything at least once.
