Zug Izland

From the dejected streets of metro Detroit, comes Zug Izland...a refreshingly new rock ensemble ready to infect the ears of a new generation. Inspired by the industrial waste dump for which they are named, Zug Izland can best be described as unassailable toxic rock. Its blistering guitar forward and lyrically driven sounds have been moving live audiences and resonating with casual listeners for over two years.

Zug Izland's melodic vocals are performed by front man Syn. Syn's compelling, energetic, and unpredictable stage presence drives Zug Izland's many fans into an adrenaline driven frenzy. Syn's lyrics are an intoxicating blend of hyperrealism and an exploration of perfect human morality brought forth through first person imagery. The band is rounded out with a group of dedicated, experienced, and passionate musicians including platinum record producer Mike P on spell bounding guitar and Rex Hamilton on deep bass. This group of madmen have come together to create a sound that is undeniably IT. Zug Izland burst onto the musical scene in early 2003 with the release of their debut album, Cracked Tiles. The band's first single was an energetic, heavier track titled Fire which received major airplay nationwide. The second single from Cracked Tiles was a cover of the classic theme song from the Lost Boys soundtrack, Cry. The cover song received airplay on radio stations nationwide and set the stage for the summer of 2003. The band perfected their live set this summer while playing with popular artists like Saliva, Three Days Grace and Tommy Lee. Zug Izland released its follow up LP, entitled 3:33 in June 2004. 3:33 brought forth a new sound for the band. This album, like Cracked Tiles, showed Zug Izland's musical latitude. From the growling vocals and intense guitar solo of hate, to the band's own take on the rock ballad, in the song Feel. Shortly after releasing the new album the band filmed a video for the first single off of 3:33 entitled Saved, which like the other singles, received regular airplay on radio stations throughout the US and the video was nominated for the Detroit Music Award's Best Video in 2005.
