The Urge is an alternative rock band based in St. Louis, Missouri. Their music combines several genres, including hardcore punk, heavy metal, ska, reggae, funk, rock, and rhythm and blues. Consistent touring throughout the 1990s earned the band a reputation for high-energy live performances.

Though it wasn't until songs from the band's independently released 3rd album Receiving The Gift of Flavor (1995) started to receive radio airplay that they came to the attention of the wider public and subsequently Immortal Records to which they then signed.
On September 8, 2017, the band released a then brand new single titled "How Does It Feel".
