Biography THE DEAD LAY WAITING
Formed in 2007, The Dead Lay Waiting are a youthful 5-piece modern metal band. Following the bands appearance at Bloodstock 2008, the band signed to Rising Records releasing their debut album ‘We Rise’ in January 2010. The twelve songs of fast-paced, catchy melodies, no bulls**t metallic music received much media attention.
During 2010 the band toured relentlessly, with bands s...uch as Trigger The Bloodshed, Bleed From Within & Sarah Jezebel Deva (ex Cradle Of Filth), as well as performing at the much acclaimed Download festival.
Following their success The Dead Lay Waiting have been recently nominated at this years prestigious awards ceremony in the following two categories:
Kerrang: Best British Newcomer Band
Metal Hammer: Best Underground Band
The Dead Lay Waiting will also once again appear at this year’s Download festival, plus they will perform on HMS Hammer on route to the Metal Hammer awards, which take place at the IndigO2 @O2 Arena in London.
The band’s new album entitled ‘Almost Heaven’ will be released on 13th June to coincide with their appearance at Download as well as their nominations for Best British Newcomer and Best Underground band, competing alongside the likes of Asking Alexandria, Watain and Clutch. The album features 14 tracks and 60 minutes of pulsating music. The album also marks the return of Barry Clayton, the voice behind the now well-known intro to Iron Maiden’s Number Of the Beast.
With a fan base swiftly growing the band are ready to perform their bone crushing live performance across the world.
