Suzi Quatro

Barely 5 foot tall, the little girl with the big bass guitar, Suzi Quatro emerged from the Motor City as first a drummer in one the very first all girl Rock-n-roll bands formed by her older sisters & 2 neighbor sisters. They were called The Pleasure Seekers. It didn't take long for Suzi to move to bass & pick up vocals, then she was off to England, stating she wouldn't return until she was big.

She made good on that. She was number one internationally, but her own u.s. had no clue about her. She toured with Alice Cooper & did great, but the u.s. music industry & audiences were quite sexist & refused to accept a girl fronted Hard Rock act.

Disappointed, she wanted to go back to England. She eventually did, but not before being offered an acting job by Gary Marshall on Happy Days as Leather Tuscadero, the motorcycle riding baby sister to The Fonz's girlfriend, Pinky Tuscadero.

She did so well with that role that Gary wanted to spin-off her own tv show. But Suzi broke Gary's heart & declined, wanting to return forever to her new home England & the world of Hard Rock, where she remains an expat to this day as The God Mother of Rock-n-roll.

Gary gave that spin-off spot to his sister Penny instead & thus Laverne & Shirley came to be.
