Paul Daniel Ace Frehley was a very influential straight up rock-n-roll guitarist that probably influenced more people to pick up that instrument than any besides Hendrix, who influenced him greatly.
He released 15 solo albums but also was the originating guitarist in the 1st & most successfully memorable version of the 70s kabuki make-up styled hard Rock band Kiss. The Kiss sound began & ended with Ace's talent alone, and no other. He was with that band from 1973-1982, releasing 22 total albums with them which includes a lot of live work since that band was a more competent live band than a studio one.
After he left the band he originated, he only left as a musician but still retained a full 25% ownership of that band, earning 1/4 of all sales revenue, even though he needed to preserve his life & sanity by exiting the performing & recording line-up.
After inaugurating a successful solo career, he reunited with them from 1996-2004, giving him a total of 17 years with them before leaving for good.
Ace had a wife, Jeanette Trerotola, whom he had one daughter with, Monique. He also has one other acknowledged daughter, Lindsey, from Texas.
Ace was born April 27, 1951 and died October 16, 2025. The official coroner's report registered with the state reads that he died from "blunt force trauma". It has been said in the press that blunt force occurred due to a fall. According to his daughter Monique, he was murdered and has been quoted as saying, "people will know the truth... it is not what they've been told... he knew they were coming for him..." His death is still an open case that has not been solved - just like Jimi Hendrix, James Brown & Norma Jean Mortensen, known by her character name of "Marilyn Monroe", whom Ace admired greatly.
Ace was called Ace by his buddies for his ability to score with women. As a musician, he took for himself the persona of Space Ace, the guitarist with the smoking guitar that flew and shot rockets.
Long live Ace Frehley, the dude who never had a formal guitar lesson in his life, and in spite of not being as skillful as a classical guitarist, is still to this day possibly more widely known than any of his peers. FCK THOSE CONSERVATARD D-BAGS FROM HIS OLD BAND. LONG LIVE ACE.
